The blogg started as a memo for myself in 2007 and my studies on advanced level in Learning, IT and communication at the University of Gothenburg. During that time a sincere will to dwell into scientific research grew. Nowadays the blogg has transformed (and still is transforming) to a site where to communicate and discuss research with teachers in programming at upper secondary school. Actually there is another purpose with the blogg because of the working as a teacher. I’m interested to embrace the concept of social entrepreneurship and learning innovation (se Innovativt lärande av Tomas Kroksmark, Didaktisk Tidskrift, Vol 16, No 3, 2006). Before the blogg changed purpose it was namned “Lärande & Innovation”.

Before 2007 I have been teaching at upper secondary school since 1992, and vocational school for the telecommunication industry since 1997 (to 2003).  I have been teaching in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Technology. These days I mainly involved in courses as Database managment, Programming A-C, Webbdesign, Multimedia A-B, Computer knowledge and Commerce on the net.

Teacher
I’m teaching 20 % and researching 80 % of my woking time. It’s a great combination which makes you appreciate and up to date with the act of teaching.  My opinion about learning is mainly based on constructivism (Piaget, Vygotskij, Engeström, …) which pushes me to seek new ways of designing course conten that changes the students’ worldviews and opinions.  I think it’s a great pedagogical base when approaching the enactment of teaching. I perceive that students that engage in the course material is also akin to learn more deeply. Therefore my wish as a teacher is to involve students … honestly it’s not easy.

Researcher
As a researcher I’m interested about teachers perception about the students’ learning processes, and their design choices for the programming courses. I belong to a research school at Stockholm University and the Department of Education in Arts and Professions, with the extraordinary name TUFF (Teknikutbildning För Framtiden) – www.hig.se/tuff. It’s a collaboration between three institutions at KTH, HiG and SU.  If you are interested there is a presentation, at that site, about my research in Swedish.
